Klipspringer ZA is a Proudly South African Brand, with our leather being sourced and tanned locally. Our Team is enthusiastic about fashion, quality and comfort. One of our founders has grown up associated with the leather and shoe industry and their love of Genuine South African Leather has played a large role in the selection of materials used in our products.
We use only 'Reach Compliant' Leather because we are deeply concerned about the environment. 'Reach Compliant' was set up to make sure additives used in the leather industry do not in any way affect our environment.
We have a passion for the African Bush, having spent most of our lives exploring the beauty that South Africa has on offer. Which is why we chose this Elegantly Robust Antelope as our Business Name and Logo.
Klipspringers are small Antelopes found in Eastern and Southern Africa, they are a small and sturdy antelope reaching 43/60cm at the shoulder and weighs 8-18kgs.
The Klipspringer inhabits places characterised by rocky terrain and sparse vegetation. Its range extends from Northeastern Sudan, Eritrea, Somaliland and Ethiopia in the East to South Africa in the South and along Coastal Angola and Namibia.
There are no major threats to their survival, as their habitat is inaccessible and unfavorable for hunting. As of 2008, nearly 25% of the populations occur in protected areas throughout its range.
The name Klipspringer is Afrikaans for 'Rock Jumper' and alludes to the animals ability in rocky territory where it can be seen moving freely, seemingly on tiptoe.
